Since its establishment in 2026, Patra Research and Development Foundation has steadily evolved into a research-driven organization committed to improving lives through sustainable development.
Beginning its journey in Mayurbhanj and expanding its initiatives to Chilika, PRDF has worked closely with farmers, women, youth, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), educational institutions, government agencies, CSR partners, research organizations, and local communities to implement innovative development programmes.
Our work has focused on promoting Sustainable Agriculture, supporting women-led enterprises, strengthening education and digital learning, improving community health and nutrition, conserving the environment and biodiversity, enhancing tribal and forest-based livelihoods, and encouraging research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
One of our notable initiatives, "Turning Waste into Sustainable Livelihoods," demonstrates our commitment to transforming locally available natural resources into sustainable economic opportunities while protecting the environment. We have also promoted value addition of forest products, skill development programmes, climate-smart agriculture, nutrition initiatives, and community capacity building.
Every PRDF programme begins with research, participatory planning, and community consultation, ensuring that interventions are locally relevant, inclusive, and sustainable. Through continuous monitoring, learning, and collaboration, we strive to maximize social, economic, and environmental impact.
As we look to the future, PRDF aims to expand its reach across Odisha and India, becoming a leading institution for research, innovation, sustainable agriculture, women empowerment, quality education, community health, environmental conservation, rural entrepreneurship, and inclusive development.
Our journey has only just begun, but our commitment remains unwavering—to empower communities, protect the environment, and build a future where every individual has the opportunity to live with dignity, health, knowledge, prosperity, and hope.
